<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council <br />of Centerville held their regular meeting on August i), 1986 <br />at City Hall. Mayor L'Allier called the meeting to order at <br />7:05 P.M. Present: Fritchie, Robischon, Wilharber. <br />Absent: Zimny. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Robischon to accept the <br />minutes of the July 23 meeting; aye - Robischon, Wilharber, <br />L'Allier; abstain - Fritchie; motion carried. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS: <br />Storm sewer cover on Peltier Lake Drive and Centerville Road <br />has been replaced. <br /> <br />Orv will look at bJack top kids are breaking away from culvert <br />on Brian Drive. Clerk will contact the Rice Creek Watershed <br />District on the above culvert problem as well as the tree <br />across Clearwater Creek at 1832 Main Street. Clerk will also <br />contact Police to watch for kids breaking blacktop away from <br />culvert on Brian Drive. <br /> <br />Clerk will have city engineer look at drainage problem caused <br />by Peltier Lake Hills Addition #2 which is flooding 1693 <br />Peltier Lake Drive. <br /> <br />Orv will fill potholes on Peltier Lake Drive with blacktop. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Mayor L'Allier and Councilman Robischon will contact Dennis <br />Wegan with an offer of $16,600 for his truck. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Robischon to approve the city <br />sidewalk blueprint, motion carried unanimously. Clerk will <br />notify the Anoka County Community Action Program to proceed <br />with bids. <br /> <br />Motion by Robischon, second by Wilharber to approve the kennel <br />license for Dean Lauderbaugh, 1844 Main Street, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Fritchie to approve the variance <br />request to Ordinance #4, section 42.02, to separate lots 1 & 2, <br />excluding the north 10 feet of lot 2, block 5; from the south <br />t of lot 11 and all of lot 12, block 5, Village of Centerville, <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The above variance request seems to meet the four criteria <br />needed to grant a variance. <br /> <br />1. Existing special conditions peculiar to the land are <br />as follows: <br />- there is a sewer stub for each peice of property <br />- these are old lots of record <br />- this separation would be concurrent with the existing <br />downtown setting. <br />2. Literal interpretation would deprive the petitioner of <br />rights commonly enjoyed by other properties in the same <br />commercial downtown area also of this smaller size. <br />
