City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting <br />March 31, 2009 <br />after his discussions with City Administrator Larson. Motion carried (4/1) Council <br />Member Fehrenbacher opposed. <br />5. Res. #09-006 -Authorizing Submission of Application for ARRA Transportation <br />Enhancement Grant <br />City Administrator Larson stated that there are Federal stimulus grant dollars available for <br />the trails. The City trail project was previously approved for about 75% funding, but staff <br />would like to submit the project for ARRA funding for the local construction share as well. <br />The application is due Apri13, 2009. <br />Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Paar, to <br />adopt resolution 09-006 authorizing submission of an application for an ARRA <br />Transportation Enhancement Grant. Motion carried unanimously. <br />6. City of Centerville Parade Committee -Parade Bud e.~ t Request <br />Councilmember Lee stated that the Parks and Recreation Committee would like formal <br />approval on their parade budget. <br />Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Paar, to <br />approve the parade budget request of $6,000 for the parade and approve use of the <br />City logo. Motion carried (4/1) Council Member Broussard Vickers opposed. <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br />1. City Administrator, Dallas Larson <br />a. Screening/Hiring Process -Finance Director Position <br />City Administrator Larson stated that the job posting has been out for some time, and <br />it will close April 7, 2009. He stated that the Council needs to discuss who will <br />participate in the interviews. <br />Mayor Capra inquired whether the Council would want to follow the same process <br />used previously. <br />Councilmember Paar stated that he would like to participate in the interviews. <br />Councilmember Fehrenbacher stated that he would also like to participate in the <br />interviews. <br />Mayor Capra and Councilmember Broussard Vickers both stated that they are fine <br />either way. However, Councilmember Broussard Vickers stated that she would like <br />to participate in the 100-point scoring process. <br />City Administrator Larson suggested that they could do a two-step process in order <br />to keep the time frame shorter for Councilmembers. <br />Page 8 of 10 <br />
