<br />IX. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />1. The City of Centerville January 10, 2002 through January 23, 2002 Expenditures. <br />2. Centennial Fire District Expenditures <br />3. Media Junction - EDC Business Directory <br />4. Park Construction Pay Estimate #3 - $53,459.40 (Pheasant Marsh) <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes requested permission to add the postage to mail out the EDC directory <br />to Item 3. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked if there was money in the EDC budget for that <br />postage. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that EDC has enterprise funds to be used for the <br />postage. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Swedbef!1, seconded by Council Member Capra to approve the <br />Consent Agenda as amended. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />X. COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg reported that the Police Department has asked the City for its priorities <br />for the coming year and asked each Council Member to bring a couple of ideas to the <br />next meeting. He also asked Ms. Moore-Sykes for her priorities for policing for the City. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg indicated the Police Commission is attempting to figure out how to <br />raise the Chief and Deputy Chief salaries to bring them more in line with the guideline <br />for the positions. He also indicated the Police Commission has asked to take the funds <br />out of the reserve funds but noted that the City would then be committed to continuing <br />with the increased salaries. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg noted the contract for street officers is up this year and will go into <br />negotiations for a new contract for 2003. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson commented that the Chief provided his budget and she would <br />feel very strongly that there is no way to raise it. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis reported that the fire budget had come in $874.00 under budget <br />for the year. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson reported the new EDC Business Directory is available in the <br />City Hall foyer. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra reported the cable commission is working on a contract with <br />AT&T Broadband. <br /> <br />Page 25 of28 <br />
