<br />City of CentervilIe Ord #24 <br />Effective: 10/27/99 <br /> <br />(2) Upon payment of the license fee, City Staff shall issue to the owner a license <br />certificate and metallic tag for each animal licensed. The tag shall have stamped on <br />it the year for which it is issued and the number corresponding with the number on <br />the certificate. Every owner shall be required to provide each animal with a collar <br />to which the license tag must be affixed, and shall see that the collar and tag are <br />worn. In case an animal tag is lost or destroyed, a duplicate shall be issued by the <br />City. A charge shall be made for each duplicate tag. Animal tags shall not be <br />transierable from one llnimllJ to another and no refunds shall be made on any <br />animal license fee or tag because of death of an animal or the owner's leaving the <br />City before the expiration of the license period. <br /> <br />(3) The licensing provisions of this Subdivision shall not apply to "nim"l~ whose <br />owners are non-residents temporarily withio the City, nor to "nim"l~ brought into <br />the City for the purpose of participating in any llnim"l show, nor shall this <br />provision apply to llnim"l~ specifically trained for and actually providing assistance <br />to the physically challenged. <br /> <br />(4) Address Change. An applicant who has obtained a license shall notifY the <br />City of applicants address change withio corporate limits of the City withio thirty <br />(30) days of any address change. <br /> <br />(5) Counterfeit Tags. No person shall counterfeit, attempt to counterfeit, or <br />attach any counterfeit tag to any dog, cat and furret in the City. <br /> <br />Subd. 3 Pigeons. No person shall keep four (4) or more pigeons on a premises, without first <br />obtaining a license as provided in this Section, and no person shall keep or harbor pigeons except <br />in compliance with this Section. <br /> <br />(1) As used in this Section the term pigeon includes any and all varieties of <br />pigeons. The term loft includes any and all quarters in which pigeons are <br />housed. <br /> <br />(2) Application for a license to keep pigeons shall be made to City Staff on such <br />forms as the City Staffmay provide. The application shall be investigated by <br />the llclmin;~tive staff of the City to determine compliance with the Ordinance of <br />the City and shaI1 then be referred to the City Council which shall have the <br />discretion to grant or deny the license. The Council shall conduct a public <br />hearing if needed. In making such determinlltion, the Council shall take into <br />consideration, among other things, the following: the adequacy of the housing <br />for the pigeons; the methods to be nsed fur sanitation and to maintain quiet; <br />and, any violations during the previous license period, if applicable.
