<br />City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />April 24, 2002 <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated she would support a Parks and Recreation <br />Committee recommendation for use of the funds. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis indicated he would support a Park and Recreation Committee <br />recommendation for use of the funds. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated the City may want to accept the $6,000 from the Spring <br />Lake Park Lions if the Centerville Lions do not have the SOIc3 foundation up and <br />running prior to the June 30, 2002 deadline. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked whether the Spring Lake Park Lions have the right to deny <br />requests for funds. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated the organization has the right to deny any request it wishes <br />to. <br /> <br />Carla DeVine addressed Council and indicated she was there to clear up the confusion <br />with regard to a motion made at the Parks and Recreation Committee meeting. She then <br />explained that Parks and Recreation had made a motion to recommend Council approval <br />for the Lions to run concessions during Little League games. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated she had said it wrong at the last Council <br />Meeting and Parks and Recreation had not approved the concessions, it was a <br />recommendation to Council for approval. <br /> <br />Ms. Peil indicated they would be using all packaged goods and would not be cooking. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra recommended the Lions Branch check with the Anoka County <br />Health Department because there may be some requirements. <br /> <br />Ms. Peil agreed to look into it. <br /> <br />Motion by Conncil Member Broussard Vickers. seconded bv Council Member <br />Travis to allow the Lions Branch to sell concessions continl!:ent on approval from the <br />Anoka County Health Department. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson said she would like to add that the approval is contingent upon <br />the approval of the Anoka County Health Department. <br /> <br />Council Members Broussard Vickers and Travis consented to the addition. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked who would be responsible for opening and locking the <br />building. Ms. Peil indicated she intended to request a key for the concession season. <br /> <br />Ms. DeVine asked whether Council had a copy of the motion made by Parks and <br />Recreation.
