<br />Mayor Sweeney indicated that there are some who would prefer to build a $3,000,000 <br />new facility just because it is on the other side of the lake rather than look into the <br />existing building in Centerville for half the cost. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee indicated that Chief Heckman has said publicly that the location of <br />the building in no way affects the service the cities receive. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Capra, seconded by Council Member Paar to approve <br />the Centennial Lakes Police Department budget as presented. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />4. Purchase Agreement 1601 LaMotte Drive <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated that he has been unable to contact the seller to discuss the <br />City’s concerns with the purchase price and deed restrictions so a letter was written and <br />faxed to them for consideration. <br /> <br />5. Storm Drainage on Center Street <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that Staff has asked how they are supposed to track <br />delayed assessments because, when the homes are sold, Staff is contacted and asked <br />whether there are any assessments. <br /> <br />Council discussed the matter with the City Attorney who indicated that, in this case, the <br />answer would be no and he then explained that the City has the right to assess residents <br />for any work done at this time in two years when the other proposed work is done. <br /> <br />Ms. Stephan indicated she did not think the City could do work now and then ask for <br />payment in two years. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated that the City is allowed to do so. <br /> <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> <br />1. 2004 Street Project <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson provided a brief progress update on the 2004 street project. <br /> <br /> <br />2. Eagle Pass <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson indicated that Jesse from Swift has promised to dig a trench behind the <br /> <br />cottages on Ojibway to drain the water out of the pine trees and then put the sod back. <br /> <br />Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br />
