City of Centerville
September 22, 2004
Council Meeting Minutes

Council agreed to seek the opinion of the police department and to put the speed trailer in
that location.

Mr. Peterson indicated that only two residents would not sign the petition out of the 50 or
so people this involves. He then explained that one resident would not sign because he
did not think it would help and the other said his kids do not leave the cul-de-sac.

2. Karen Stutz On Street Parking

Ms. Karen Stutz of 1776 Stephen Lane asked Council to consider researching and
revising the on street parking ordinance to make it match the ordinances in Circle Pines
and Lexington with parking prohibited over night in winter but not in summer.

Council agreed to direct the Planning and Zoning Commission to research and provide a
recommendation on whether changes would be appropriate.

VI. PUBLIC HEARINGS

1. Mr. Cheldon Frank, 1597 Peltier Lake Drive – Variance Request to Build Home
on Non-Conforming Lot

Mr. Cheldon Frank of 7313 Old Mill Road indicated that he had gone to Rice Creek and
was told that since the City did not adopt a shoreland ordinance his setback from the lake
is 150 feet rather than 75 feet. He then said that he has been told to apply for a variance
through Rice Creek and asked Council to consider the variances for lot width and lot
square footage but not the front yard setback because he will be able to move the house
back 5.5 feet to meet the front yard setback.

Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded by Council Member Paar
to close the public hearing. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously.

Mayor Sweeney closed the public hearing at 7:09 pm.

Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded by Council Member Paar
to approve a variance for R15-31-22-41-0001 for minimum lot width and minimum
square footage as requested based upon the pre-existing platted lot.
