City of Centerville December 20, 2004 Council Meeting Minutes Council discussed the matter and determined that the City Employees would be covered by the City’s insurance policies in the event of an accident. Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar to approve Consent Agenda Item 11 as presented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. V. AWARDS/PRESENTATIONS/APPEARANCES 1. Chief Bob Makela – Presentation to Exiting Mayor Sweeney Chief Makela acknowledged the public service efforts of outgoing Mayor Sweeney and thanked him as well as the City for the support of the police department. He then presented Mayor Sweeney with a clock on behalf of the governing board and police department to acknowledge his service. He also provided the Mayor with patches from the old department and the new department. 2. Council Member Broussard Vickers – Presentation of Gavel to Exiting Mayor Sweeney Council Member Broussard Vickers presented exiting Mayor Sweeney with a gavel in recognition for his service to the City. Mayor Sweeney thanked Council and the City for the acknowledgement. VI. PUBLIC HEARINGS 1. Truth-in-Taxation Hearing Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded by Council Member Capra to close the public hearing. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. VII. NEW BUSINESS 1. Resolution #05-001 – Appointments for 2005 Council reviewed the appointments for 2005 and appointed Lee as Acting Mayor, Capra and Lee to the Fire District Steering Committee, Lakso to the North Metro Cable with Paar as the alternate, Capra and Lee to the Police Governing Board, the City Administrator to the Tri City Meeting, Paar to EDC, Lakso to Park and Recreation, Broussard Vickers to Planning and Zoning, Acting Chief Makela as Emergency Services Director, and Capra to the Solid Waste Advisory Committee.
