<br />City ofCenterville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />April 10, 2002 <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked that the Police Department be invited to the picnic to promote the <br />neighborhood watch program. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers suggested doing a general invitation to all residents <br />to save money on postage. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated she would like to personally invite those residents that <br />are to be honored with plaques. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson said she felt the invitation and postage for actual volunteers is a <br />good expense and she would like them all to be invited. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked for approval to open up the invitation to the general public <br />and noted she would plan for 300 hotdogs. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Nelson, seconded bv Council Member Capra to <br />approve an amount UP to $700.00 for the expenses involved with the Volunteer <br />Reco!!nition Picnic durin!! National Volunteer Week. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimouslv. <br /> <br />7. Emplovment Policies <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes reported that she had reviewed all the employment policies that <br />Council Member Nelson put together and has started a Centerville suggestion policy. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson asked when Ms. Moore-Sykes would be completed with the <br />project. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes explained it would be difficult to give a firm date for completion due to <br />her other duties and the many interruptions she faces during the day but said she would <br />have it completed within the two-month timeframe allotted by Council. <br /> <br />VIII. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />I. Centerville Lion's Request for Remaining Button Supplies <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated she had received an e-mail from the Lions asking that <br />Council consider donating the leftover buttons from the Festival last year. She then <br />suggested the City also donate the wrist bands used to identify age for drinking <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Capra, seconded bv Council Member Travis to approve <br />donation of the leftover buttons and wrist bands to the Lions as requested.
