<br />City ofCenterville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 12.2002 <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated there would be an additional staff person next year. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked how much of the legal work the City would have to pay for. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that the legal work was paid -for out of the <br />Commission's budget. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated she had learned that 800 residents within the Cable <br />Commission cities have one-way broadband and two-way broadband will be available in <br />2003. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked fur more information on the memo from Brian concerning deed <br />restrictions. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated there are no restrictions on the deeds. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that Mr. Rivard may have done a handshake deal but <br />there is nothing official. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked if the City was any closer to the deed on the Turcotte property. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated the matter was in the hands of the Examiner of Titles and <br />could be there for six months. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked if there was an update on the deferred compensation issue <br />from the IRS. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated he had received an opinion from the Attorney General's <br />Office on the matter. He then said he and others from his office have been analyzing the <br />decision and, at this time, are unsure what the decision means. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated that Mr. Heefuer was working with Mr. McDonald on the <br />IRS funds. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated she had been asked by Ms. Donna Carlson of the Lino <br />Lakes Council to give a presentation on how to get started with historic photographs. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson reported that the EDC meeting took place and noted that there <br />have been problems with the Committee for several months. She then explained that the <br />issues were discussed and the Committee would like more Council Members present for <br />events. She further indicated that the EDC would be reviewing its bylaws to determine <br />whether a non-resident, non-business person could serve on the Committee as this person <br />works at the bank and there is consensus that this person would be good for the <br />Committee. <br /> <br />Page 20 of23 <br />
