<br />City ofCenterville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 12,2002 <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated that a representative from the soccer <br />association had come forward and wants to sprinkle the soccer fields and, in return, has <br />asked that the City keep the field for soccer use for three to five years. She then indicated <br />that the Committee will get bids and find out if water is accessible before providing a <br />recommendation to Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated that the Parks and Recreation Committee <br />intends to look at its budget at an upcoming meeting and noted that the skate park would <br />open June 21,2002 and there should be feedback on how things are going at the park by <br />the first meeting in July. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that the Lions had asked for various permits for the Fete des <br />Lacs Festival and noted the requests would be on the June 26, 2002 agenda. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis indicated that the Planning and Zoning Commission is looking at <br />the massage parlor, body piercing and tattooing ordinances. He then asked if a date had <br />been set for the NEMO training. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated she had been playing telephone tag with NEMO and said she <br />would notilY Council when a date is available. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson asked Staff to find out how long this training would be and <br />asked that it be held at a Council meeting if possible. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg noted the police budget is $50,000 higher for next year. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated a copy of the agenda and minutes had been placed in the FYI <br />files fur review. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson asked what would happen if the City did not pay. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated he was going to treat that question as a rhetorical question. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated Mr. Patzer had been contacted by a party interested in <br />purchasing the 1975 tanker truck the City owns. She then indicated the tanker truck is in <br />sad shape but the individual is interested in fixing it. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded bv Council Member <br />Travis to approve the sale of the 1975 tanker truck.
