<br />City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 22, 2002 <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked if the trail was located as per the <br />recommendation of Parks and Recreation. Mr. Peterson indicated the trail was moved to <br />line up the two trails. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded by Council Member <br />Capra to approve Resolution #02-016 as presented. AU in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />3. 2002 Seal Coat <br /> <br />City Engineer Peterson indicated that the plans and specifications for the 2002 seal coat <br />project were completed and sent out for quotes. <br /> <br />4. Computer Up~ades <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that Staff had discussed the matter and is of the opinion that <br />it would be a better idea to purchase all the equipment at the same time so that it will <br />match. She then indicated the City Clerk had begun price comparisons on the system and <br />had obtained infonnation from Comp USA and those prices were very comparable to the <br />price quotes from Logis. She further commented she had spoken to Rick Sternum from <br />Bounestroo who said that the Logis proposal was good and outlined significant concerns <br />as well as saying he thought the differences would be product preferences but he thought <br />the report was right on and correct. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson indicated she would like to go ahead with the Finance Director's <br />computer and wait on the others. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked why it was necessary to wait when the <br />accountant, auditor and Staff are saying the computer system is an issue. She further <br />commented that the City is losing Staff time due to issues with the computers. She also <br />commented that the City is going to be asking its finance people to take on major issues <br />with the finances without adequate equipment for the job. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson indicated she did not feel it had been determined that the City <br />has the money and she is concerned about the payroll tax situation with deferred compo <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated she was not proposing to do the whole package but would <br />reoommend pmr.h..,.;"g the server and the computer stations., <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson asked how much that would cost. Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated <br />that the server and the computer stations should cost approximately $15,000. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated there was $10,000 in the office equipment <br />budget. <br /> <br />Page 7 of15 <br />
