<br />City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 22, 2002 <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated the project was not :finished and asked Mr. <br />Engler to reserve judgment until the restoration bas been completed. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated the deadline for the work to be completed is June 1, 2002. <br /> <br />Mr. Palzer indicated the drainage swale looks like it is functional and noted the area will <br />need to be either sodded or seeded. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked Mr. Palzer to work with the developer to make sure Mr. Engler's <br />yard is returned to its proper condition. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated that if the yard is not done by when it is <br />supposed to be done the City will step in and have the work done at Mr. Drilling's <br />expense. She then said that, if not done by June 1,2002 not to expect it done by June 2, <br />2002 but noted the City would begin the process to have the work done as soon as <br />possible. <br /> <br />Mr. Palzer indicated there are a number of items to be completed at CenterVilla and there <br />is a June 1, 2002 deadline. He then said that he is not sure the letter of credit is enough to <br />make sure the work is done. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated the finance people are looking at it to see what funds are <br />available to perform that work. <br /> <br />Mr. Palzer indicated that he had received a request for permission to have a block party <br />on Hayfield. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded by Council Member <br />Capra to approve the request for a block party on Havfield subiect to police and fire <br />department approvals. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Drilling arrived at the meeting and asked why he was not informed he needed to be at <br />the meeting ifhe was on the agenda. <br /> <br />Council indicated he was on the agenda for a construction update and Mr. Engler arrived <br />to discuss the matter. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated that Mr. Drilling needed to sod or seed Mr. <br />Engler's yard by June 1,2002. <br /> <br />Mr. Drilling said he has been dealing in good fu.ith with the Engineer, the City and Mr. <br />Engler and he is still being accused of pulling a fast one. He then said that no one is <br />pulling any fast one. He further said that he has been told by the neighbors that Mr. <br />Engler's ground has been 5 inches below the catch basin for years and has held water. <br /> <br />Mr. Drilling indicated that he has agreed to raise the ground at no charge to Mr. Engler so <br />that his back yard will drain to the catch basin. <br /> <br />Page 13 of 15 <br />
