<br />II DEFINITIONS. <br /> <br />For purposes of this Handbook, the following terms shall have the <br />following definitions when used herein. <br /> <br />A. Employee - Means any individual who works for the City <br />except the following: <br /> <br />1. Elected officials, <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Members of <br />committees, <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />boards, <br /> <br />commissions <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />3. Independent contractors, and <br /> <br />4. Others not regularly employed in paid positions, <br />such as volunteers. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Exempt Employee Means <br />regulation by the Federal <br />including the following: <br /> <br />an employee exempt <br />Fair Labor Standards <br /> <br />from <br />Act, <br /> <br />1. City Administrator <br />2. Community Development Director <br />3. EDA Coordinator <br />4. Facility Manager <br />5. City Clerk <br />6. Finance Director <br />7. Planner II <br />8. Police Chief <br />9. Deputy Chief of Police <br />10. Director of Public Works/City Engineer <br />11. Assistant City Engineer <br />12. Park & Rec Director <br />13. Any other employee identified by the City Council <br />as an exempt employee. <br /> <br />c. <br /> <br />Full-Time <br />scheduled <br />work week <br /> <br />Employee <br />to fill a <br />of at least <br /> <br />Means an employee normally <br />position with an on-going regular <br />forty (40) hours. <br /> <br />D. Probationary Employee - Means an regular employee who <br />has been first hired, promoted, transferred, re- <br />employed, or reinstated to a position within the past <br />six months. <br /> <br />II-I <br />
