<br />4. When Taken. Vacation leave may be used no sooner <br />than the next pay period after earned, subject to <br />approval by the department head. <br /> <br />5. Exempt Employees. Exempt employees shall accrue <br />vacation leave on a bi-weekly basis like all other <br />employees. However, those exempt employees whose <br />normal job requirements include attendance at <br />council, commission, or board meetings outside the <br />regular work day shall accrue vacation in <br />accordance with the following schedule: <br /> <br />0-5 years employment <br />6-15 years employment <br />16-20 years employment <br />21+ years employment <br /> <br />120 hours annually <br />160 hours annually <br />200 hours annually <br />200 hours plus 8 hours <br />for each year worked over <br />20, to a maximum of 240 <br />hours <br /> <br />D. Sick Leave. <br /> <br />1. Accrual. All regular employees who regularly work <br />30 or more hours per week shall be entitled to <br />sick leave with pay. This leave shall accrue at <br />the rate of 3.69 hours on a bi-weekly basis. An <br />employee may accumulate no more than 960 hours of <br />sick leave. <br /> <br />For part-time regular employees, sick leave shall <br />computed on the basis of (hours compensated for <br />work per week) divided by (40 hours per week) <br />times 3.69 hours per two week period. <br /> <br />2. Use of Sick Leave. <br /> <br />a. For the employee. Sick leave may be <br />authorized by the department head for an <br />employee not on any other leave when the <br />employee is unable to perform work duties due <br />to illness, disability, the necessity for <br />medical, dental, or chiropractic care, <br />childbirth or pregnancy disability, or <br />exposure to contagious disease where such <br />exposure may endanger the heal th of others <br />with whom the employee would come in contact <br />in the course of performing work duties. <br />Illness or injury occurring while an employee <br /> <br />V-3 <br />
