Shorts in general (culottes and tailored shorts as <br />part of a tailored suit ensemble are acceptable.) <br />k. Mini-skirts or short-aIls <br />1. Any clothing, that when seated, should not be <br />shorter than what would cover the top one-half of <br />the thigh. <br /> <br />These examples are intended only as a guide, and <br />are not all-inclusive. Employees with a question <br />about a particular clothing item should contact <br />their department head. <br /> <br />Dress needs vary by job function. Individuals who <br />spend a majority of the day in the field or in a <br />recreation function need to dress in a manner <br />appropriate to their jobs, as determined by their <br />supervisor. Field workers who are in the office <br />for full days should follow the guidelines listed <br />above. <br /> <br />Uniformed Personnel. Uniforms, which are provided <br />to some city employees, are expected to be neat, <br />fresh and clean when reporting to duty. Each <br />department is responsible for employees following <br />regulations regarding uniforms, related <br />accessories and equipment. Uniforms bearing a <br />city identification patch should not be worn <br />during off-duty hours. <br /> <br />Casual Fridays. Fridays are designated as "casual <br />day" in City Hall and the Community Center; on <br />these days nice jeans, t-shirts and sweatshirts; <br />and knee-length walking shorts can be worn, but <br />not the other items on the above list. Employees, <br />who take Friday off, cannot substitute any other <br />day of their choice as a "casual day". <br /> <br />Administration of Dress Code. Employees reporting <br />to work in attire, which, at the discretion of the <br />City Administrator or Department Head, is not <br />befitting a professional image, shall be warned <br />that such clothing is not to be worn again. An <br />employee who continues to report to work in <br />inappropriate attire will be sent home to change <br />clothes. The employee will not receive paid hours <br /> <br />VI-2 <br />
