<br />3. Transmission of obscene, sexually explicit, and <br />harassing messages. <br />4. Transmission of messages that are discriminatory <br />based on race, national origin, sex, sexual <br />orientation, age, disability, religious or <br />political beliefs, or other status protected under <br />law. <br />5. Accessing or distributions of obscene materials. <br />6. Using e-mail for commercial use and/or profit. <br />7. Extensive use of e-mail for personal purposes. <br />8. Transmission of political messages. <br /> <br />PROCEDURES: <br />a. All users having authorized access to e-mail <br />are required to sign this policy stating that <br />they have read, understand, and agree to the <br />policy. <br /> <br />b. Authorized users will be given a "logon" name <br />that allows access to the network. The user <br />will provide a personalized password. Any e- <br />mail communication will be attributed to the <br />logon name and password of the user. <br /> <br />c. Both internal and external e-mail messages are <br />considered to be the property of the City of <br />Shakopee, and are subject to disclosure. The <br />City reserves the right, with the approval of <br />the City Administrator, to monitor any and all <br />messages at any time with or without prior <br />notice to the user. The use of a system logon <br />and password are not meant to, and do not <br />convey, any expectations of privacy to the <br />user. <br /> <br />d. Users will not divulge their network or e-mail <br />passwords, unless required to do so in the <br />course of their official duties. Any person <br />with knowledge of a password that is not their <br />own shall report it to his/her supervisor <br />immediately. The supervisor will then see that <br />appropriate actions are taken to secure the <br />network. <br /> <br />e. No user shall attempt any unauthorized access <br />to the system. Any user found to have engaged <br />In unauthorized access of e-mail may be subject <br />to disciplinary action up to and including <br />termination. <br /> <br />VI-10 <br />
