If a virus is detected, the City <br />Administrator shall be notified immediately. <br /> <br />16.Users shall not participate in Web-based <br />surveys or interviews without prior approval <br />by the user's supervisor or the City <br />Administrator. <br /> <br />17.Subscription-based services will not be used <br />without prior approval by the user's <br />supervisor or the City Administrator. <br /> <br />7. E-MAIL POLICY The purpose of providing e-mail to <br />City employees is to facilitate communication and <br />the exchange of information among elected <br />officials, staff, residents, other governments, <br />and those doing business with the City. Because <br />this communication may occur through both internal <br />and external e-mail.this policy applies to both. <br /> <br />Purposes: <br />> To provide guidelines for secure, effective, and <br />efficient use of e-mail; <br />> To provide guidelines for access to, and <br />disclosure of e-mail messages sent or received by <br />City employees. <br /> <br />The use of e-mail must also be consistent with the <br />City's Personnel Policy Manual as it relates to <br />employee conduct. For example, the transmitting <br />bye-mail of obscene or harassing messages, is <br />subject to the same disciplinary measures that <br />would apply if the messages were transmitted <br />verbally. Violation of this policy may result in <br />the application of disciplinary measures up to, <br />and including termination of employment with the <br />City. <br /> <br />The following list of prohibited e-mail activities <br />is illustrative, and not inclusive of all <br />activities that might be found to violate this <br />policy: <br /> <br />1. Use of e-mail for activities that are illegal, <br />unethical, unprofessional, or that could <br />reasonably be construed to be contrary to the <br />interests of the City. <br />2.
