<br />24 APPEARANCE AND ATTIRE POLICY <br /> <br />The attire and the appearance of City employees have a direct reflection on the <br />professionalism in the delivery of City services. City employees are required to <br />meet the general public on a daily basis as part of their regular work assignment <br />and as such, a neatly attired City employee presents a positive image both of <br />themselves and the City of Centerville. <br /> <br />When deciding on appropriate work attire, City employees shall employ sound <br />discretion in their decisions as clothing needs vary by job function and safety. <br />These considerations should be based on job safety, City image, and personal <br />hygiene. The following is not considered appropriate attire in most work settings <br />and is strongly discouraged: <br /> <br />. Tub tops, halter tops, tank tops, muscle shirts <br />. Sweats or work out clothing <br />. Tight, body-hugging clothing <br />. Shorts <br />. Clothing that is revealing and causes a distraction <br />. Clothing that is faded, worn or in disrepair <br /> <br />The department head will be responsible for determining if attire is appropriate. <br />Employees who have questions concerning appropriate work attire should direct <br />them to their immediate supervisor. <br /> <br />24.1 Casual Fridays. Fridays are desiqnated as "casual day" in City Hall on <br />these days nice ieans. City loqo t-shirts. City loqo sweatshirts and knee-Ienqth <br />walkinq shorts can be worn. None of the other items on the above list qualify as <br />casual Friday attire. Employees. who take Friday off, cannot substitute any other <br />day of their choice as a "casual dav". <br /> <br />25 ELECTRONIC MEDIA USAGE POLICY <br /> <br />The City of Centerville's electronic media usaqe policy is desiqned to provide <br />clear quidelines to City of Centerville employees reqardinq access to. and <br />disclosure of. computer. network. telephone and facsimile systems. Employees <br />increasinqly use and exploit electronic forms of communication and information <br />exchanqe. and have access to one or more forms of electronic media and <br />services (computer. e-mail. telephones. voice mail. fax machines. external <br />electronic bulletin boards. on-line services. and the Internet), <br /> <br />The City encouraqes the use of these media and associated services. because <br />they make communication more efficient and effective. and because they are <br />valuable sources of information. However. electronic media. data, and services <br />provided by the Citv are City owned and publicly funded. and their purpose is to <br />facilitate City business.
