<br />, <br /> <br />Electronic media and services should not be used in a manner that is likely to <br />cause network conqestion or siGnificantly hamper the ability of other people to <br />access and use the system. Continued impedance of other users throuqh mass <br />consumption of system resources, after receipt of a request to cease such <br />activity, is prohibited. The willful or careless introduction of proqrams known as <br />computer viruses, Troian Horses and worms into the Citv's network or into any <br />external networks or computers can cause such excessive computer usaqe or <br />even damaQe a system and so would be a violation of this policy. <br /> <br />25-8 Questions Reaardina Policy <br /> <br />City employees who have concerns or are uncertain about ethical. leGal or <br />security issues reqardinq the use of data communications tools are expected to <br />discuss their concerns with their supervisor who will act as the employee's first <br />point of contact. <br /> <br />Part of the responsibilitv of the City Administrator is to insure the inteQritv of City <br />data (an asset). Therefore, the City Administrator, in consultation with the City <br />Attorney, will resolve and answer any Questions about this Acceptable Use Policy <br />or its interpretation. Until such issues are resolved, questionable use should be <br />considered "not acceptable". Questions of interpretation should be submitted, in <br />writinG, to the City Administrator. Final authority for this Acceptable Use Policy <br />lies with the City Council. <br /> <br />25.9 Policv Violations <br /> <br />The City Administrator and/or an employee's direct supervisor, or their desiqnees <br />will review alleqed violations of this city policy on a case-by-case basis. The City <br />Attornev mav be consulted for technical assistance in investiqatinq a complaint. <br />Clear violations of the policy which are not promptlv remedied may result in the <br />expulsion of the offendinq emplovee from the City's network services in addition <br />to disciplinary action, and consistent with the Personnel Policv or appropriate <br />barQaininQ unit aQreement. <br /> <br />26 NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY <br /> <br />That the City and all employees thereof are subiect to a policv of non- <br />discrimination on the basis of race, color. aQe, creed, reliqion, national oriqin. sex, <br />marital status, sexual orientation, status with reQard to public assistance or <br />disability, <br /> <br />27 SAVINGS CLAUSE <br /> <br />This policv is subiect to the laws of the United States and the State of <br />Minnesota: in the event that any provision shall be held to be contrary to law by a <br />
