<br />year to attend school conferences or classroom activities related to the employee's child <br />(under 18 years of age or under 20 and still attending secondary school), provided the <br />conference or classroom activities cannot be scheduled during non-work hours. <br />Employees may use accrued vacation or compensatory time. <br /> <br />11.5 ElectionsN oting <br /> <br />Pursuant S 204C.04, subd. 1, employees who are eligible to vote in an election may be <br />absent from work for the purpose of voting during the morning of the day of that election. <br />No penalty or deduction from salary or wages will occur because of this absence. An <br />employee who is selected to serve as an election judge pursuant to Minnesota Statute S <br />204B.21, subd. 2, will be allowed time off without pay for purposes of serving as an <br />election judge, provided that the employee gives the City ten (10) days written notice. <br /> <br />11.6 Minnesota Parental Leave <br /> <br />A. An employee who works 20 or more hours per week and has been employed at least <br />one year, is entitled to take an unpaid leave of absence in connection with the birth or <br />adoption of a child. The leave may not exceed six weeks, and must begin not more than <br />six weeks after the birth or adoption ofthe child. <br /> <br />B. The employee is entitled to return to work in the same position and at the same rate of <br />pay the employee was receiving prior to commencement of the leave. Group insurance <br />coverage will be made available during the leave. <br /> <br />C. The employee may use accrued sick leave for Parental leave. <br /> <br />Article 12 <br /> <br />Sexual Harassment <br /> <br />12.1 General <br /> <br />A. The City of Blue Earth is committee to creating and maintaining a work place <br />atmosphere free of harassment and discrimination. Such harassment is a violation of <br />Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Minnesota Human Rights Act. <br /> <br />B. In keeping with this commitment, the City maintains a strict policy prohibiting <br />unlawful harassment, including sexual harassment. This policy prohibits harassment in <br />any form, including verbal and physical harassment. <br /> <br />C. This policy statement is intended to make all employees sensitive to the matter of <br />sexual harassment, to express the City's strong disapproval of unlawful sexual <br />harassment, to advise employees of this behavior obligations and to inform them of their <br />rights.
