<br />City of Centerville <br />November 13, 2002 <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers said it was not possible to make a unilateral policy <br />because the situations are not the same and these residents cannot relieve the water issue <br />without the help ofthe City. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated the other residents had places to get the water off of <br />their property. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson indicated that Council told Center Street there was nothing the <br />City could do for them. Mr. Peterson indicated there is no storm sewer in Center Street. <br />He then said the City is not able to put a pipe on Center Street because there is no place <br />for it to go. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Capra, seconded by Council Member Travis to direct <br />Staff to further investieate tbe drainaee problem on Quebec Street up to 1836 <br />Quebec Street and place the matter back on Council's aeenda for discussion <br />concernine the potential costs as well as notifyine residents. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked whether residents were interested in cost <br />sharing on the project. Mr. Powers indicated he was not willing to pay anything nor is <br />his neighbor Mary. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Ms. Sue Hines, 1836 Quebec Street, indicated she would cost share in an attempt to <br />finally resolve the issue. <br /> <br />VOTE: Ayes - 3, Nays - 2(Nelson/Swedbere). Motion carried. <br /> <br />2. Historical Society's Request for Artist/Crafter for the Submission of a Holiday <br />Ornament from the City of Centerville <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated the Historical Society had asked the City to provide an <br />ornament for 2002 and she would like approval to work with Staff to locate a local <br />artisan. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded by Council Member <br />Nelson to approve up to $40 for the cost of a 2002 Centerville ornament. All in <br />favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />3. Proposed Historical Downtown District <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that federal funds are intending on being used for the <br />purpose of widening County Road 14 (Main Street) and restrictions exist on the usage of <br />these funds when it involves impacting a historic district.
