Whose problem is it? <br /> <br />Motion and Action Item To Do: <br />Commissioner Korst seconded by Commissioner Pitchford made a motion that Chair <br />Karen Varian and Commissioner Swedberg draft a letter to each City Council and <br />Administrators explaining the health and safety concerns of employees and the need for <br />adequate facilities to support the Department. The letter will request authority to exceed <br />the 2003 CLPD Budget to procure independent consultants, prepare findings, and make <br />recommendations to solve the immediate health issues and longer term facility needs. <br />The motion was approved unanimouslv. <br /> <br />8. Miscellaneous Items: <br />A. Update on the Task Force to Review Commission Make-up <br />Chair Varian stated the Task Force has met 3 times and will be making a <br />recommendation to the Commission in December. The questions center on how <br />many representatives and who. Commissioner Pitchford wanted to meet with the <br />Task Force prior to December. <br /> <br />B. Monthly Activity Report September 2002 <br />No discussion or comment. <br /> <br />C. Monthly Department Summaries October 2002 <br />No discussion or comment. <br /> <br />D. Anoka County Centennial Lakes Area Crash Facts <br />No discussion or comment. <br /> <br />E. Article in the International Association of Chiefs of Police <br />Remodel or Build Anew <br />No discussion or comment. <br /> <br />F. Changes in Modems (CPDP) <br />A technical update on the modems that are used in the squad cars. They will be <br />changed by 2004 because AT&T is migrating to a new format for transmission of <br />data that is much faster and may allow pictures to be transmitted quickly. The <br />announcement was made at the International Chiefs of Police Convention recently <br />held in Minneapolis. Improvements are on the horizon. <br /> <br />q, <br /> <br />L_ ____ <br />
