Paved sidewalks 5 feet wide of portland cement, concrete or asphalt <br />concrete may be required on 1 or both sides of streets designated as collectors or arterials. <br /> <br />(C) Storm drainage. The construction of a storm drainage system shall conform to <br />-the following requirements: - . - <br /> <br />(1) Drainage ditches or channels shall have a minimum gradient of 1 %; <br /> <br />(2) Open watercourses shall have adequate capacity and erosion control to <br />ensure safe and healthful disposal of stormwater; <br /> <br />(3) When topsoil has been removed from the surface of a lot on a slope where <br />erosion will cause a displacement of loose material, the subdivider shall be required to <br />seed or provide other means to prevent the wash from damaging adjacent property or <br />accumulating on street surfaces; and <br /> <br />. (4) Design of storm drainage facilities shall be compatible with adjacent areas, <br />including the extension of abutting existing storm sewers. Design of all drainage <br />structures shall be based on the 5-year occurrence for design intensity using runoff <br />coefficient and concentration times as determined by the City Engineer. <br /> <br />(0) Water supply. Where public water supply is available, as determined by the <br />Council, the subdivider shall connect to the public water supply and construct a system of <br />water mains with a connection for each lot The minimum size of water mains shall be 6 <br />inches and the minimum size of private water services shall be 1 inch. Water mains and <br />services for commercial and industrial uses or for the extension of major trunks shall be <br />determined by the City Engineer. If private wells are to be permitted, they shall be <br />constructed in conformance with City Code and Minnesota Statutes and Rules. <br /> <br />(E) Sewers. All plats within the urban service area shall be' connected to the <br />municipal sewer system. <br /> <br />(F) Utilities. Every lot in a subdivision shall be capable of being served by utilities, <br />and easements acceptable to the utility companies shall be provided. Electric, gas and <br />other utility distribution lines shall be installed within public rights-of-way or within <br />properly designated easements. To the fullest exteQt possible, underground utility lines <br />shall be installed within the right-of-way adjacent to but not beneath existing and <br />propooedpavedareas. . <br /> <br />(I) Street name and trafflc control signs. In single- and multiple-family <br />developments, the developer shall install all street name signs and traffic control signs as <br />deemed necessary by the City Engineer. In commercial and industrial developments, the <br />developer shall install all street names signs and traffic control signs as deemed necessary <br />by the City Engineer. <br /> <br />(J) Sodding.
