<br />City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />November 30, 2005 <br /> <br />Council Member Lee stated that he thinks this situation has been remedied. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar stated that he plans to take over as the liaison to the Park and <br />Recreation Committee beginning in January. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee stated that he attended the Downtown Redevelopment Task Force <br />meeting and is very excited about the possibility of locating a resource branch of the <br />library in Centerville. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee stated that the Task Force also discussed architecture for the <br />downtown area and have been discussing "French Canadian" and a style similar to New <br />Orleans. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that Finance Director Meyer had attended a meeting on Financing <br />Public Properties and she was looking forward to hearing feedback from that meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that she has spoken with several businesses regarding signing the <br />MOD. She stated although there are some concerns, many are glad to see this moving <br />forward. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra reminded people that Cougar Cash was available and makes a great <br />stocking stoffer for Christmas. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that a resident asked her to bring up the idea of purchasing vests or <br />light jackets for people who are doing "ride-alongs" with the police to wear which <br />identifies them as "ride-alongs." <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso stated that there was information included in the packet on a <br />legislative action alert in regards to legislation trying to eliminate local franchising <br />authority. She stated that if the local franchising authority is lost, the City will lose a lot <br />of its local cable resources. <br /> <br />Council Member Terway thanked the Downtown Redevelopment Task Force for their <br />work. He stated that they have come up with a lot of good ideas and he is especially <br />excited about the possible library. He stated that he is also in favor of the proposed <br />parking structure which would allow for more green space in the City. He stated that he <br />would like to see a presentation made, possibly by Mayor Capra that gives a brief history <br />of why the City is looking into the "French-Canadian" type architecture. <br /> <br />2.
