Health Insurance :Renewal & Monthly Allotment <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson indicated she would like to see the City pay 70% rather than the <br />$500 which would be 73% fur this year. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg indicated the bigger issue fur him is that he would like to see the City <br />get out of the deferred compensation and into a 401K because there could be tax savings <br />fur employees. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg indicated that using a percentage could end up costing the City more <br />because health care costs continue to rise. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson agreed but said, in this instance fur a quick fix, she would like to <br />continue fur the year with the percentage. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Nelson. seconded bv Conneil Member Broussard <br />Vickers to approve a City contribution to heakh insurance of 70.'" with Staft' <br />contributine 30% for the remainder oltle calendar vear. <br /> <br />Mr. Palzer commented that the union employees are receiving 80%. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson indicated further issues would be addressed with the personnel <br />policy. She also noted that the City has made it clear it is not matching nonunion with <br />union. <br /> <br />Vote: An in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />3. Relocation of the Civil Defense Siren <br /> <br />Fire Chief Bennett addressed Council and explained that the civil defense siren is to be <br />moved but there has been a delay due to an attempt to have Connexus Energy move the <br />sign at no cost to the City. He then noted it has since been learned that the pole is owned <br />by Xcel Energy and he will be contacting them to move the pole. He further explained <br />that he would work with Staff to make sure that the siren is moved and reinstalled <br />without too much time elapsing especially in light of the fact that severe weather season <br />is here. <br /> <br />4.
