<br />area residents and property owners feel that improvements in addition to reconstructing <br />County Road 14 on its current alignment are needed now as opposed to in the distant future. <br />(Written Comments and Verbal Comments) <br /> <br />. A number of comments received argued that Centerville is really isolated from the rest of <br />Anoka County because of the condition and design of County Road 14 all the way west <br />to 242. (Verbal Comments) <br /> <br />. Numerous Centerville residents and City Officials emphasized the need to improve <br />pedestrian safety and access to the Elementary School in Centerville. (Written Comments <br />and Verbal Comments) <br /> <br />. A number of people commented that numerous properties along County 14 in Centerville <br />should be acquired and removed to accommodate needed improvements. (Written <br />Comments and Verbal Comments) <br /> <br />. Protect or enhance the designated canoe route. (Written Comments) <br /> <br />Phone Comments/Questions: <br /> <br />Phone calls received regarding the project have tended to concern the potential for specific <br />impacts on homes and businesses. Individuals have asked about how much right of way may be <br />needed for County Road 14 improvements and how they may be compensated for impacts on <br />their properties. <br /> <br />Comments on Issues Map and Photo Presentation Board: <br /> <br />In addition to written comment forms and verbal comments heard at the public information <br />meeting, a number of notes were written on "post-it" note sheets which were posted on the Issues <br />Map and Photo Presentation Board that had been displayed at the meeting. The content of these <br />notes is summarized below: <br /> <br />. Concerns were expressed about limited highway right-of-way available to widen County <br />Road 14, especially north/west of Centerville. <br /> <br />· Locations of burial mounds were noted. <br /> <br />. A question was posed as to whether above ground power lines would be buried in <br />Centerville. <br /> <br />.
