<br />Citv of Centerville <br />HIRING PROCEDURES <br /> <br />The City ofCenterville's recruitment and selection process grants equal employment <br />opportunity to employ the best applicant for each vacancy on merit. <br /> <br />It will therefore be the responsibility of City Administration The rele of the Human <br />Resomees Dh4sioR is to conduct the hiring process according to the following program <br />procedures and to provide uniformity and equal treatment of all applicants. The <br />department head is responsible for the fmal selection of the employee that he/she <br />determines will best meet the needs of the department. The following policies and <br />procedures for the hiring process have been established: <br /> <br />Full Time Employees <br /> <br />1. The department head will notify Rotifies the City Administrator Ik1m!lfi <br />Resollrees of an opening and the need to recruit, indicating the requirements <br />he or she desires in the position. <br /> <br />2. The City Administrator HUIRllIl Resourees reviews the current job description, <br />as well as requirements from the department head, and discusses a recruitment <br />process with the department head. <br /> <br />3. The department head will recommend to the City Administrator Hl:I1llaR <br />Resollrees whether a non-union position vacancy is to be posted internally or <br />externally. <br />a. Internal postings will provide at least a ten (10) day period for <br />application. <br /> <br />b. External postings will provide at least seven (7) days for application <br />from the date of the initial advertisement. <br /> <br />4. Applications will be are received by the City Administrator Hum!lfi <br />Resomees and held until the closing date for applications. <br /> <br />5. All applications are to be reviewed by the City Administrator HmRaR <br />Resollfees and the department supervisor(s}. <br /> <br />6. The City Administrator HllHIaR Resollrees and the department supervisor <br />confer on a list oftop applicants to be interviewed. <br /> <br />7. The City Administrator will HumaR Resollfees arranges the interview <br />schedule, providing all interview materials as needed. <br />
