I stopped by St. Genevieve's this morning and was informed by the
secretary that last year when she contact the City regarding placing information on the
City Sign regarding the Church Picnic Teresa stated she would not place it on the City
sign due to it being an issue of separation of Church and State.

I don't believe we have an official policy that I am aware of regarding the City Sign,
maybe you could look into that prior to the meeting. My second question is regarding
advertising other local events such as, school, lions, etc. We do advertise the Haunted
House for the Lions, which could be associated with "Black Magic or Dark Religion" as many
people are opposed to things of that nature we maybe should reconsider promoting that
event. I know the Lion's organization does not promote it as a religious event, as St.
Gene's does not promote the picnic as a religious event they simply are hosting it.

Personally I don't have a problem advertising community events if the City Sign is
available, Scouting for food, Church picnic's (certainly Mass schedule's), Lion's Haunted
House, School Carnival, etc.

Thanks,

Jary Capra

1
