<br />City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 26, 2002 <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated the City had given up the thought of purchasing the property <br />and noted that she had not had a chance to review minutes. She then said that Mr. <br />Drilling is interested in purchasing the property and developing it with Mr. Sheehy <br />retaining 5 acres. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg commented that there was a large amount oftax owed on the property. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis indicated there is a big assessment owed. <br /> <br />Mr. Palzer indicated there is a flood plain assessment. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked if the assessments would have to be paid when the property is <br />sold. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated the County would not accept the lot split until the <br />assessments are paid in full. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson asked if the temporary sign at Performance Auto was still there. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated it was gone. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson asked for input on the trail at Appie Tree Square. <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated they are still working on it. <br /> <br />'* <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson indicated she was not talking about the new part but the other <br />side that was to be fixed. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated the fence on the Shad Avenue side was nearly completed and <br />there has been a lot of work going on. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg indicated that it has been too wet for trail work. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson indicated that there was an article in the Quad concerning using <br />credit cards or special payments for bills to be paid to the City and the article had profiled <br />Circle Pines and indicated that they are cutting costs by using automatic bank <br />withdrawals. She then suggested that Staff contact the City Administrator in Circle Pines <br />to obtain information on the procedure and determine costs. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that the Clerk had called around to other cites and Circle <br />Pines is the only city in the area that is doing electronic payments. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson asked for an update on that information at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis commented that Circle Pines would be handling a lot more <br />money. <br /> <br />Page 20 of22 <br />
