Jim March

om:
nt:
To:
Cc:
Subject:

Peterson, Tom W [tpeterson@bonestroo.com]
Thursday, January 11, 2001 12:09 PM
'sfussel/@metrols.com'
'jmarch@centervillemn.com'
Centerville- Lloyd Qrilling Project

Some comments on the Site Plan at the ~.t"}:I2""l"al:L:...

* The sewer service connection by Main Street is about 19' deep. The
contractor will need to use bracing to protect the street. Also, the main
line pipe is 15" Rep.
* The new water service should be PVC pipe, not DIP. Also, you are
connecting to a 12" PVC, not an 8".
* There are two old house services to this site, where the homes used
to be. These lines (assume copper water and 4" PVC) should be bulkheaded at
the main line pipe.
* The ditch along Main Street on the west side will need to be
realigned slightly to the south, to make room for the new bituminous trail.
Therefore, the flared end section should be relocated south about 5 feet.
* The new catch basin at the southwest corner should outlet into the
ditch, directly south of the CE. This will provide some treatment of the
water from the strip mall parking lot.
* An 8' wide trail should be located along the south side of the
parking lot, from Peterson Trail to Shad Avenue.
* Proposed earthen berms along the north property lines will cause
some problems with drainage. Water is generally flowing from north to
~outh, so you will need to provide culverts, swales, catch basins, etc. to
ck up runoff.

When these comments and others are incorporated in the new plans (site,
landscape, grading), please send me copies for review. Thanks.

1
