<br />SEP-30-04 01:35 PM <br /> <br />P.12 <br /> <br />another to operate a vehicle on the streets in the City shall be deemed to have consented <br />to the removal of any vehicle which is in violation of the provisions of this SectiOD, and <br />such consent shall extend to the storage of said vehicle without liability to the City or its <br />agents for damage to said vehicle or its contents while said vehicle is being removed or <br />stored. <br /> <br />SECTION 9.14. UNATTENDED VEHICLE. <br /> <br />Subd. 1. It is unlawful for MY person to leave a motor vehicle unattended while <br />the engine is runni ng. <br /> <br />Subd. 2. It is unlawful for any person to leave a motor vehicle unattended with <br />the key in the ignition. <br /> <br />SECTION 9.15. VEHICLE REPAIR ON STREET. It is unlawful for MY <br />person to service, repair, assemble or dismantle any vehicle parked upon a street, or <br />attempt to do so, except to service such vehicle with gasoline or oil or to provide <br />emergency repairs thereon, but in no event for more than twenty.four (24) hours. <br /> <br />SECTION 9.16. PARKING FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADVERTISING OR <br />SELLING MERCHANDISE. It is unlawful for any person to park a vehicle on any <br />street for the purpose of advertising such vehicle for sale, for the purpose of advertising <br />for sale or selling merchandise thereon or therein, or advertising any merchandise for sale <br />or a forthcoming event. <br /> <br />SECTION 9.17. PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED PARKING. <br /> <br />Subd. 1. Statutory parking privileges for physically handicapped shall be strictly <br />observed and enforced. Police officers are authorized to tag vehicles on either private or <br />public property in violation of such statutory privileges. <br /> <br />Subd. 2. It is unlawful for any person, whether or not physically handicapped, to <br />stop, park, or leave standing, a motor vehicle (I) in a sign-posted fire lane at any time, or <br />(2) in lanes where, and during such hours as, parking is prohibited to accommodate heavy <br />traffic during morning and afternoon rush hours. <br /> <br />SECTION 9.18. DISABLED VEHICLES. <br /> <br />Subd. 1. Parking of Disabled Vehicles. Vehicles wbich are disabled due to either <br />damage or malfunction while on streets, must be pulled over to the extreme right-hand <br />portion of the roadway, and shall not be left unattended by the person parking such <br />vehicle until all measures necessary to ensure the free and safe flow of other traffic using <br />the roadway, such as setting in operation sufficient lighting to warn oncoming traffic of <br />potential hazards have been taken. In no event shall a disabled vehicle be left unattended <br />on a street or other roadway for longer than twenty-four (24) hours unless in case of <br />extreme emergency.
