We are primarily interested in forging ongoing <br />programs with the local schools. <br /> <br />Total Program Production Breakout <br /> <br />I!I Programs <br />produced by public <br /> <br />Of the 1,101 new programs that <br />played on the channel in 2003, <br />21 % were produced by the <br />public utilizing our facility and <br />25% were produced by staff. <br /> <br />Outside programs represented <br />54% of the programs that <br />played on the channel. Again, <br />these programs are most often <br />produced by local <br />organizations such as churches, schools, and cities. It isn't surprising that more programs <br />are being independently produced. As video production equipment becomes more and <br />more computer based it becomes less expensive. Many organizations have made an <br />investment into their own production equipment. This is particularly true of <br />organizations that have made video production an integral means of sharing their <br />message. <br /> <br /> <br />. Programs <br />produced by staff <br /> <br />[J Programs <br />produced by public <br />not using Media <br />Center <br /> <br /> <br />Our operation can really be divided into two separate departments, public access and staff <br />productions. It is a system that serves the community well. The staff produces a wide <br />variety of interesting and informative programs with a high degree of technical expertise, <br />and every opportunity exists for anyone from the public to do the same. It's a perfect <br />world. <br /> <br />The Production Van <br /> <br />The North Metro production van is a familiar sight at all of our ball fields, gymnasiums, <br />and ice rinks. It serves as a production tool, PR tool, and classroom all in one. Van <br />Coordinator Kenton Kipp and his assistant Matt Waldron are two hard working fellows. <br />They pore over each high school's sports roster and look at upcoming city events to plan <br />their coverage schedules. They try hard to balance many different sports for both <br /> <br />7 <br />
