Staff advised him on both
occasions that the City is working with Ms. Moreland to repair and maintain her property.
The City Attorney has indicated that the City could either contract for this maintenance or
the Public Works staff could do it with the costs being certified to the property owner's
taxes.

The Police Chief was also contacted to see if the police are continuing with the patrols of
the Moreland property. He indicated that they did patrol the property for the first couple
of weeks, but are not doing it now. The Chief asked that if the City Council wanted the
Department to continue with the patrols, he would need that in writing.

As the result of these conversations with Mr. Skoog, I asked the Building Official to
provide Council with a report updating them on the progress of the Staff's efforts to clean
up the property. He indicated that he would provide Council with an update.
