<br />Council Member Paar indicated that the EDC meeting was rescheduled and he was <br />unable to attend. He then said his wife attended the speaker meeting and said the speaker <br />was very good but the meeting was not very well attended. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that she was unable to attend the ground breaking <br />ceremony for the new cable building. She then reported that the Commission approved a <br />Resolution against the proposed Victory Sports Channel. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that the City has received close to 50 applications for the <br />public works position. She then asked whether Council was interested in hiring for one <br />or two positions at this time. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney asked whether it would be possible to use high school graduates as <br />summer interns before they go to college for help with public works related jobs. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that it is difficult to do your own job and manage interns. <br /> <br />Council discussed the matter and there was consent to hire two at this time. <br /> <br />Council recessed to executive session at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />X. EXECUTIVE SESSION (CITY ADMINISTRATOR-PRIORITIES) <br /> <br />Council convened the closed executive session at 7:32 p.m. to discuss priorities of the <br />City Administrator's work goals. No action was taken. <br />Council closed the executive session at 8:13 p.m. <br /> <br />XI ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Council reconvened the regular Council meeting at 8: 14 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vicker. seconded bv Council Member Paar <br />to adiourn the March 24. 2004 City Council Meetilll!: at 8:15 D.m.
