City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting <br />May 27, 2009 <br />2. Agreement Amendment #1 (Master Agreement dated Au ue s~ t 27, 1998) -Between <br />City &Bonestroo Re a.~ rding Construction Phase Services, Training & Duties of <br />Engineer During Construction Phase of Projects <br />City Administrator Larson stated that the City is attempting to assume a greater role in the <br />responsibility of this project. He then asked City Engineer Statz to clarify some issues. <br />City Engineer Statz stated that the Agreement's Amendment No. 1 covers language about <br />the safety and training Bonestroo is providing City employees. He told the Council <br />Members that Pages 50-64 of the handouts include a cover letter, outlining the scope of <br />services and a list of tasks -some assigned to Bonestroo and some assigned to City staff. <br />City Administrator Larson stated that City Engineer Statz is still responsible for the <br />decision making, and the City will bring matters to his attention. <br />Councilmember Lee stated that City Engineer Statz's report is very detailed and it is clear <br />as to who is responsible for what. <br />Councilmember Broussard Vickers stated that she would like to be assured that, if <br />something unforeseen were to come up and the City staff was unable to handle it, it would <br />not be left undone. She also would like to make sure that, if there would be a significant <br />change, the City would be informed of it immediately. <br />Councilmember Lee stated that he would approve, as long as issues are addressed as soon <br />as possible. <br />City Engineer Statz stated that City Administrator Larson will observe the hours, what is <br />being done on a week-to-week basis, and he will inquire about anything that may concern <br />him. <br />Councilmember Lee stated that, as adjustments are made, a brief explanation of what <br />happened should be given immediately. <br />Discussion ensued. <br />Mayor Capra stated that City Administrator Larson did a great job finding another person <br />for the inspection position. <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve <br />Agreement Amendment #1 (Master Agreement dated August 27, 1998) between City <br />& Bonestroo Regarding Construction Phase Services, Training & Duties of Engineer <br />During Construction Phase of Proiects, as presented.
