<br />March 5, 2001 <br />Fete des Lacs Festival Committee Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />electricity would be installed prior to the Fete des Lacs City Celebration. Committee <br />Member Sweeney questioned contacting Rivard Electric entirely. Chair DeVine stated <br />that it would be dependent on where the electricity is run comparative to event location. <br />Committee Member Sweeney suggested that the Committee consider ensuring the proper <br />location for the electrical to possibly curtail any additional cabling. Committee Member <br />DeVine stated that there would be two (2) junction boxes. Committee Member DeVine <br />also stated that the planned installation would include a post junction box near the <br />telephone pole, adjacent to the trail and another one (1) installed near the baseball fields. <br />Committee Member DeVine also stated that the current electricity to the warming house <br />would be upgraded. Mr. Wilharber stated that a generator was used to power the <br />Centerville Lion's beer trailer and that the large generator used to provide power to the <br />R.V.s was obtained from the City ofLino Lakes. Mr. Wilharber stated the importance of <br />contacting the electrical inspector. Chair DeVine stated that planning for electricity last <br />year took place approximately one (1) week prior to the event. Committee Member <br />DeVine stated that the Committee was misinformed by the carnival as to the amount of <br />power they would need. Committee Member Sweeney requested that Committee <br />Member DeVine keep the Committee abreast of events associated with this item <br /> <br />Chair DeVine questioned Committee Member Sweeney in regards to volunteers needed, <br />and the main stage. Committee Member Sweeney stated that he had not had time to <br />address either of these issues. Chair DeVine stated that with the package concept, it may <br />be easier to schedule events than first anticipated. Committee Member Sweeney stated <br />that the Fire Department may be able to provide miscellaneous trailers with activities <br />contained inside for simulated experiences. He would be discussing the use of same with <br />Fire Chief Bennett. Committee Member Sweeney felt that these items could take place <br />outside of the tent area, and would provide exciting events for the public. <br /> <br />9. Fireworks (Com'd) <br /> <br />Mr. March questioned whether he had missed the fireworks discussion and questioned <br />the location for same. Committee Member Sweeney stated that when he discussed the <br />location with the gentleman from Arrowhead Fireworks he stated his willingness to <br />survey the area for the best location. Mr. March explained that the previous years were <br />set off from the Hunter's Crossing development. Mr. March stated that they are currently <br />framing a house in that location. Committee Member Peil questioned the amount <br />expended on same in the previous year. Mr. March stated that he though it was $2,500. <br />Committee Member Sweeney stated that the minimum bid received from Arrowhead <br />Fireworks was $5,000. Mr. March stated that he had spoken with the gentleman from <br />Americana Fireworks who stated that he would do this year's for the same amount as last <br />year. Mr. March stated that their minimum display was $2,500. Mr. March stated that <br />Americana Fireworks has purchased all of their displays for the year and anticipates <br />hosting Centerville's. Mr. March felt that last years display was shorter than in previous <br />years. Mr. March felt that the display lasted fur 12 to 13 minutes. <br /> <br />7. CraftlBusiness Expo. (Cont'd) <br /> <br />Committee Member DeVine presented the budget for the CraftlBusiness Expo and <br />reviewed same with the Committee. Committee Member DeVine stated that the budget <br />was less than the previous years. They are requesting $875 with an estimated $875 <br />
