"

,

Mr. Lucas thanked the Committee for their time and for listening to their concerns related
to the satellite. Ms. Hackman thanked the Committee for all they have done at all of the
parks, commenting specifically that Eagle Park has turned into a very nice park.

Mr. Porter thanked the residents for attending the meeting and expressing their concerns.

Lions Shelter/Concession Stand at Laurie LaMotte Park
Mr. Terry Sweeney appeared before the Parks and Recreation Committee on behalf of the
Lions Club, to amend the plans originally submitted to the Committee for a concession
stand. The Lions would like to add a second floor to the building plans. The second
floor would be used for a meeting room and storage for the Lions Club. Additionally, the
Lions would like to expand from 18' to 20' in length. Mr. Sweeney requested feedback
from the Committee on their feelings related to the concession stand.

The consensus of the Committee would be to see sewer/water run to the stand for
restroorns, drinking fountains, running water, etc. Additionally, the Committee is
concerned about who exactly is funding this project?

Mr. Sweeney will relay the concerns to the Lions Club and then contact Ms. Lien with
their response.

CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES

Aoril4. 2001 Parks and Recreation Committee Meeting: Minutes

Motion by Mr. LeBlanc, seconded by Ms. DeVine to approve the April 4, 2001 Parks
and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes with noted changes. All in favor.
Motion carried unanimously.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Soccer Field (LaMotte Park)
Ms. DeVine explained she had spoke with Mr. Palzer regarding the soccer fields. They
determined that the size requirements are not met on the adult field. Specifically, the
field is not wide enough.

Mr. Peterson commented that the cost to move the backstop and fencing at the park will
run approximately $1,200. Mr. Porter questioned ifa temporary fence would work this
year to get us through the summer. Discussion ensued regarding making either the
softball fields or the soccer fields regulation size. Both cannot be made regulation size,
but one can. If the Committee chooses to make one of the sports areas (softball or
soccer) regulation size, then the other area will not be within regulation. Both fields are
heavily used and have received either equipment or a monetary donation from their
perspective organizations (Centennial Little League and Soccer Club). These donations
were in lieu of priority use of the fields.

2
