<br />. <br /> <br />May 21, 2001 <br />Fete des Lacs Festival Committee Meeting Minutes <br />regarding using the same logo as last year and adding information and changing the date <br />versus holding a contest for the button design similar to that of other communities. The <br />Chair stated that he was open to new suggestions; however, the buttons need to be <br />ordered soon as the festival is drawing nearer. The Chair questioned whether a new logo <br />could be available for the next meeting. Committee Member Peil stated that additional <br />charges for art work would be associated with the buttons if a contest was held due to <br />cleaning up of the art work, new art work, etc. Committee Member Sweeney stated that <br />if a contest is desire, months of preparation would need to consider and currently the <br />Committee is short on time. Committee Member Sweeney suggested that this would be <br />something to keep in mind for next year. Chair DeVine questioned Committee Member <br />Thill in regards to supplies, postage, and the contents of the mailing. Committee Member <br />Thill stated that City Hall provided the needed envelopes, he purchased postage through <br />the post office and would be requesting reimbursement and provided the information that <br />was contained in the mailing to the Chair. <br /> <br />2. Craft Show/Advertising/Teen Dance/5K Run (Committee Member Karla DeVine) <br /> <br />Committee Member Karla DeVine questioned whether Committee Members had <br />reviewed the presented newspaper advertisement. Chair DeVine suggested that the dates <br />of the Festival should be placed on the City's informational board, cable channel and web <br />site. Discussion ensued regarding the Church's pancake breakfest on Sunday. Chair <br />DeVine questioned whether Committee Member DeVine had an advertising plan. <br />Committee Member DeVine concurred. Committee Member Peil questioned the <br />previous year's posters and the provider of same. Committee Member DeVine stated that <br />they were provided by the carnival promoter. Chair DeVine reviewed the Advertising <br />sub-committee's advertising plan. Chair DeVine stated that two (2) Y. pages ads would <br />be placed in the Quad Community Press and Press publications, one (1) ad in the <br />Hugonian, area businesses, cable channel and web site. <br /> <br />Committee Member DeVine stated that discussions had been had with Mr. Rich DeFoe, <br />Owner of the Waterworks Beachclub, and it was determined that this would not be an <br />event ofthe Committee. <br /> <br />Committee Member DeVine stated that she had contacted Ms. Monica Travis in regards <br />to the 5K run. Ms. Travis volunteered to assist in same. Committee Member DeVine <br />stated that Ms. Travis would be contacting Runners World to ascertain the possibility of <br />receiving a bulk promotional sunglass giveaway for a new sunglass manufacturer who is <br />participating in a promotional giveaway to new subscribers of Runners World. Chair <br />DeVine questioned whether any discussions had taken place in regards to the provided <br />vendor options for the event. Committee Member DeVine stated that the vendor would <br />be organizing the entire event. Chair DeVine requested that additional information was <br />needed regarding expenditures, profit, etc. prior to the next meeting. <br /> <br />Committee Member DeVine stated that the Craft Show registration was completed and <br />would be included in the donation/sponsorship mailing. <br /> <br />3. Softball Tournament, Lion's Beer & Bingo, Food Vendors, Carnival and <br />Expenditure Reimbursement (Chair DeVine) <br /> <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />
