<br />May 21, 2001 <br />Fete des Lacs Festival Committee Meeting Minutes <br />Chair DeVine stated that the tournament is still going forward, however, the fields <br />do not meet regulation size. Chair De Vine stated that it has been discussed to <br />temporarily alter the existing fields to accommodate the regulated size needed for <br />this event. Committee Member DeVine stated that the Parks and Recreation <br />Committee would be discussing this item at their next meeting. Committee <br />Member Peil questioned the possibility of the tournament not going forward due <br />to same. Chair DeVine stated that, currently, the tournament is schedule for <br />Centerville; however, the largest danger would be in the Parks and Recreation <br />Committee determined that they did not want to incur the expenditure to <br />temporarily alter the fields. Discussion ensued in regards to the entry fees, profit, <br />players being brought to the events, etc. <br /> <br />Chair De Vine stated that no recent contact had been made with the Lions in <br />regards to this item. The Chair felt that this item could be address nearer to the <br />event. The Chair stated that he would discuss this item with the Lions at their <br />meeting on Thursday. Chair DeVine stated that the carnival promoter would be <br />handling the food vendors so no progress had been made on this item. Committee <br />Member Sweeney stated that the Fire Department was not interested in serving <br />water. Committee Member DeVine stated that she would discuss this item with <br />the Parks and Recreation Committee. Mr. Bob Cordel stated that he would <br />contact the same vendors that are used for the City of Blaine's Blazin' 4th <br />Celebration. Discussion ensued in regards to the Committee selling the water. <br />Mr. Cordel volunteered to arrange a contract with his vendors. Committee <br />Member De Vine questioned whether the Committee desired her to approach the <br />Parks and Recreation Committee or not. Consensus was not to approach the <br />Parks and Recreation Committee. <br /> <br />Chair DeVine stated that there is nothing to report on the carnival. <br /> <br />Chair DeVine stated that all sub-committees should be mindful of upcoming <br />expenditures and the reimbursement procedure for same. <br /> <br />4. Raffle, Fund Raising, Parking (Committee Member Kathy Peil) <br /> <br />Committee Member Peil stated that there was no new information regarding the <br />raffle; however, the branch club will be meeting shortly to discuss this item. <br />Committee Member Peil and Sweeney anticipated approaching several Sports <br />Shops to ascertain their willingness to donate items such as 4-wheeler, dirt bike, <br />etc. <br /> <br />Committee Member Peil stated that the only supplies needed were envelopes. <br />Chair DeVine requested to view the information that was contained in the <br />mailing. Committee Member Peil stated that Staff had made the sponsorship <br />letters as requested, craftlbusiness expo, registration and parade information <br />would be contained in same. Committee Member Peil stated that the original <br />volunteer form was removed from the mailing due to the fact that the mailing <br />would have required additional postage. Committee Member Peil stated that <br />volunteer opportunities were contained in the donation/sponsorship letter. <br />Committee Member DeVine stated that the letter did not address the events that <br />would be taking place during the celebration and Committee Member DeVine <br /> <br />Page 3 of5 <br />
