<br />Motion by Mr. Walter, seconded by Mr. Lee to recommend to City Council <br />replacement of the 17 bad timbers with new timbers, at Tracie McBride Park. <br />Additionally to purchase enough black dirt to build up a berm around the play- <br />structure, at an estimated cost of$3500, with the assistance ofthe Public Works <br />department. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ms. DeVine mentioned the condition of the brush around the pond is poor, and she would <br />like to see it removed. After discussion, the Committee directed Mr. Peterson to speak <br />with Mr. Palzer to :find out the pros/cons of removing the brush. Mr. Peterson will phone <br />poll each member with Mr. PaIzer'srecommendations. The Committee is looking to <br />have it completed before July lOth for the Pond Study (Wargo activity). <br /> <br />Budget Request for 2002 <br />The Committee elected to have another "Tour of the Parks" meeting to determine the <br />needs of each park before making recommendations for the 2002 Budget. The tour will <br />take place on Monday, June 11,2001 at 6:30 p.m. beginning at Eagle Park. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Reschedule July Meeting <br />Due to the July 4th Holiday, the Committee elected to hold the July Parks and Recreation <br />Meeting on Tuesday, July 10, 2001. <br /> <br />Letter from Jovce Hayden (6965 Dupre Rd.) Regarding Satellite at Em!:le Park <br />Ms. Lien explained that after the satellite had been relocated for a second time at Eagle <br />Park, she received another letter requesting again that it be moved. Mr. Porter <br />commented that he and Mr. LeBlanc had visited the park prior to the meeting. They <br />viewed the satellite from the Hayden's property and came to the conclusion that the <br />Haydens can only see the very top of the satellite. Once the trees are in full bloom, they <br />won't be able to see it at all The Committee discussed the Satellite Standards and came <br />to the conclusion that the satellite will remain where it is currently located. Mr. LeBlanc <br />will draft a letter and furward to Ms. Lien to proof, put on letterhead and furward to the <br />Hayden's. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />Monthly Financial Statement <br />Briefly discussed. <br /> <br />Wargo Nature Center Activities <br />Ms. Lien shared that there has been a great response to the Wargo Activities being <br />offered. Currently there are roughly 20 - 30 kids registered for each day, and Mr. March <br />informed her that Apple Academy will have approximately another 30 kids for the <br />activities offered at Laurie LaMotte Park. Ms. Lien contacted Todd Murawski at the <br />Wargo Nature Center to confirm that he will have enough staff to accommodate the <br />groups. Mr. Murawski commented that he didn't think staffing would be a problem. <br /> <br />6 <br />
