<br />6. City Fire Truck <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber gave a brief history of the storage of the 1950 Studebaker fire truck and <br />how it arrived on his mother's property. Mayor Wilharber stated that the truck had been <br />stored on the property for five (5) years. Mayor Wilharber stated that he has attempted <br />restoring the truck for inclusion in City functions and will also be attempting to restore a <br />horse drawn fire wagon. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber estimated the initial costs to restore the fire truck at $25, for primer and <br />red spray paint. Future costs may include a brake repair kit, ignition switch, keys and <br />restoration of the seats. Mayor Wilharber stated that he will report back to the Council <br />engine operation, if any, or if addition monies needed to be expending. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded bv Council Member <br />Sweeney. to authorize Mayor Wilharber to use one stall of the old Public Works <br />building to store and repair the 1950 Studebaker fire truck; to provide keys to the <br />buildinl!. heat to the buildinl! and the use of electricity for power tools; and to direct <br />Mavor Wilharber to keep a runninl! total of expenditures with a cap of $1.000. All <br />in favor. Motion carried. Mavor Wilharber abstained. <br /> <br />7. Rice Creek Watershed District Aopointment <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber read a letter informing Council of the need to publish a notice of the <br />vacancy on the Board of Managers for the Rice Creek Watershed District. The City <br />needs to provide its nominee by November 15, 2000. Mayor Wilharber noted Mr. <br />Cardinal has served the Watershed District for many years and indicated it was his desire <br />to nominate Mr. Cardinal. <br /> <br />Consensus was to publish the notice of vacancy and determine whom to appoint to the <br />Rice Creek Watershed District based on applications received at the November 8, 2000 <br />City Council Meeting. <br /> <br />X. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Xl. COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber reported that the Centennial Fire District Committee has obtained a <br />new Polaris Ranger six (6) wheeled, all terrain vehicle with a 50-gallon water tank on the <br />back. The District also recently obtained Engine 21 which is a fire engine tanker with a <br />65' ladder. <br /> <br />Page 60f8 <br />
