<br />Effective 9/5/00 <br />City of Centerville Ord. #4 <br /> <br />ordinary high water mark is commonly that point where the natural vegetation changes from <br />predominantly aquatic to terrestrial. <br /> <br />Performance Standard - A criterion established to control appearance, noise, odor, toxic <br />or noxious matter, vibration, fire and explosive hazards, glare, heat, waste and other <br />potential impacts generated by or inherent in uses of land or buildings. <br /> <br />Planned Unit Development - A tract of land, which will contain two or more principal <br />structures, developed under unified ownership or control, the development of which may be <br />unique and of a substantially different character than that of the surrounding area. <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Commission - The Planning Commission of the City of Centerville. <br /> <br />Plat - The drawing or map of a subdivision prepared for filing of record pursuant to Chapter <br />505 and containing all elements and requirements set forth in applicable local regulations <br />adopted pursuant to Section 462.358 and Chapter 505. <br /> <br />Portable Sign - Any sign not permanently attached to the ground or other permanent <br />structure, or a sign designed to be transported, including, but not limited to, signs designed <br />to be transported by means of wheels; signs converted to A- or T-frames; menu and <br />sandwich board signs; umbrellas used for advertising; and signs attached to or painted on <br />vehicles parked and visible from the public right of way, unless said vehicle is used in the <br />normal day-to-day operations of the business. <br /> <br />Principal Use or Principal Structure - The main use to which the premises are devoted <br />and the purpose for which the premises exist. <br /> <br />Private Property - Any real property within the City which is privately owned and which is <br />not a public property as defined in this section. <br /> <br />Public Hearing - An official public meeting, which notice has been published in the official <br />newspaper. <br /> <br />Public Property - Any street or highway that includes the entire width between the <br />boundary lines of every way publicly maintained for the purposes of vehicular travel, and <br />shall also mean any other publicly owned property or facility. <br /> <br />Recreational Use - Golf courses, tennis courts, driving ranges, archery ranges, picnic <br />grounds, boat launches ramps, swimming areas, parks, wildlife and nature preserves, <br />game farms, fish hatcheries, shooting preserves, target ranges, trap and skeet ranges, <br />hunting and fishing areas, hiking, bicycling and horseback riding trails. <br /> <br />Recreational Vehicles - A mobile vehicle, including boats, used for recreational purposes <br />capable of being towed or being self-propelled. <br /> <br />Residential Facility - A state licensed residential facility, defined by Chapter 462, <br /> <br />Page 10 of62 <br />
