MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Line Lakeil ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION I. <br /> <br />PURPOSE AND INTF..NT <br /> <br />The purpose of \his ordinance is to establish a set of standards for fabrication, <br />erection and use of siiUS. symbols. marldngs. or advertising dcvices within the <br />City. These standards are designed to protect and promote the general welfare, <br />health and safety of persons within the communlty and to aid and assist in the <br />development and promotion of business and industry by providing regulations <br />which allow and encouragc creativity. effectiveness and flexibility in the design <br />and use of such devices. <br /> <br />SECTION n. <br /> <br />nRFTN1T1nN"S! <br /> <br />A. Commercial Use' Activity carried out for IDOnetary gain. <br /> <br />B. C.onditinn.l Use' A land use or development that may not be appropriate <br />generally within a certain district but may be allOWed in that district with <br />appropriate restrictions, conditions or Ilmltatlons as imposed by the City Council. <br /> <br />C. C.ondlrinnsl Use Permit. A permit issued by the City Council in acCOrdallCc <br />with the procedures specified within this Ordinance as a device to enable the City <br />Council to assign conditiollS to a proposed use or development after consideration <br />of the adjacent land uses and the special characteristics which the propmcd use <br />presents . <br /> <br />D. Permitted Use: Any u.se allowed in a zoning district and subject to the <br />restrictioll! applicable to that toning district. <br /> <br />E. Sian;. The term "Sign" 6halI mean a name, identification, description, display, <br />Ullllltration structure or device which is affixed to, or painted on, or represented <br />directly or indirectly upon a building or other outdoor surface or piece of land, <br />and which directs attention to an object, product, place, activity, person, <br />institution, organization or business. <br /> <br />J <br />
