<br />(1) Where a developed parcel has In ex- <br />cess of three hundred feet of street <br />frontage, one additional free-standing <br />sign may be erected for each addi- <br />tional three hundred feet of street <br />frontage in excess of the first three <br />hundred feet of street frontage abut- <br />ting the developed portion of said <br />parcel. (see Fig, 1). <br /> <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />(2) Where a developed parcel is permitted to have more than one free-standing sign under <br />these regulations, the distance between said free-standing signs on each parcel shall be <br />not less than 300 feet. <br /> <br />(3) Subject to provisions of Section 5 of this Code, the total area of all free-standing signs <br />on each parcel shall not exceed one square foot of sign area for 8ach linear foot of street <br />frontage of the deveioped portion of said parcel. <br /> <br />(b) No free-standing sign shall be located <br />nearer than five feet to an interior <br />property line. (Fig. 2). <br /> <br /> <br />Figure 2 <br /> <br />(c) One wall or facia sign indicating only the name and nature of the occupancy, for each <br />occupancy within the developed parcel. Said sign shall not exceed a total area of three <br />square feet of copy for each linear foot of building occupancy or that area of copy per- <br />mitted in Section 5.3, whichever is the lesser. If such occupancy is on a corner, one wall <br />sign will be permitted for each face. If the building includes a canopy, each tenant will <br />be permitted one under canopy sign in conformity with Section 5.6. <br /> <br />(d) No free-slanding sign shall exceed the height or area established by Tabie 1, Section 5.1. <br />No height limit is specified for signs placed flat against the wall of a building, painted on <br />the wall 01 a building or for other attached signs provided all other provisions 01 this Code <br />are compiied with. <br /> <br />(e) With the exception of a free-standing sign, a sign may be located within or proje5\,in~ <br />required front or street sldeyard set-back area, If the set-back area exceeds -li>ffl. leet. <br />However, no sign may project into or over an abutting public right-of-way except as other- <br />wise provided for in this Code. <br /> <br />(f) Free-standing signs shall be located so as to provide and maintain the same front and <br />street sideyard set-backs as that required for a building on the same parcel. <br /> <br />NOTE: Shopping center and highway commercial zones vary from city to city from very brief <br />pocket zones to strip zones many blocks in length. Off-premise signage, therefore, would be <br />suitable in some communities and not in others and must be assessed on an individual basis by <br />city authorities in consultation with outdoor advertising people. <br /> <br />19 <br />
