<br />Sec. 4.4. Heavy Density Commercial and Industrial Zones <br /> <br />Signs permitted in heavy density, commercial zones and industrial zones are those outlined in <br />Regulations and Limitations of Permitted Signs, Section 5 of this Code. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Sec. 4.5. Medium Density Industrial Park Zones <br /> <br />Within the Medium Density Industrial Park Zones, signs are permitted as follows: <br /> <br />(a) One free-standing sign indicating only the name and nature of the occupancy for each de. <br />veioped parcel not to exceed one square foot of sign area for each lineal foot of street <br />frontage abutting the developed portion of said parcel, provided that: <br /> <br />(1) Where a developed parcel has in excess of three hundred feet of street frontage, one <br />additional free-standing sign may be erected for each additional three hundred feet <br />of street frontage in excess of the first three hundred feet of street frontage abutting <br />the developed portion of said parcel. <br />(2) Where a developed parcel is permitted to have more than one free-standing sign under <br />these regulations, the distance between said free.standing sign on each parcel shall be <br />not less than 300 feet. <br />(3) Subject to provisions of Section 5 of this Code, the total area of all free-standing signs <br />on each parcel shall not exceed one square foot of sign area for each linear foot of <br />street frontage of the developed portion of said parcel. <br /> <br />(b) One wall or facia sign indicating only the name and nature of the occupancy, for each <br />occupancy within the developed parcel. Said sign shall not exceed a total area of three <br />square feet of copy for each linear foot of building occupancy or that area of copy per- <br />mitted in Section 5.3, whichever is the lesser. If such occupancy is on a corner, one wall <br />sign will be permitted for each face. If the building includes a canopy, each tenant will be <br />permitted one under canopy sign in conformity with Section 5.6. <br /> <br />(c) No free-standing sign shall exceed the height or area established by Table 1, Section 5.1. <br />No height limit is specified for signs placed flat against the wall of a building, painted on <br />the wall of a building or for other attached signs provided all other provisions of this Code <br />are complied with. <br /> <br />(d) No free-standing sign shall be located nearer than five feet to an interior property line. <br /> <br />(e) With the exception of a free-standing sign, a sign may be located within or project into a <br />required front or street sideyard set-back area, if the set-back area exceeds five feel. <br />However, no signs may project into or over an abutting public right-of-way except as <br />otherwise provided for in this Code. <br /> <br />(f) Free-standing signs shall be located so as to provide and maintain the same front and <br />street sideyard set-backs as are required .for a building on the same parcel. <br /> <br />NOTE: Medium density industrial park zones vary from city to city from very brief pocket <br />zones to strip zones many blocks in length. Off-premise signage, therefore, would be suitable <br />in some communities and not in others and must be assessed on an individual basis by city <br />authorities in consultation with outdoor advertising people. <br /> <br />i <br /> <br />l <br />:1 <br />i <br />I <br />, <br />"..J <br />i <br />:1 <br /> <br />f <br /> <br />Sec. 4.6. Limited Commercial Zones <br /> <br />Within the Limited Commercial Zone, signs are permitted as follows: <br /> <br />(a) Two signs for each occupancy - one free-sfanding sign in the Regulations and Limitations <br />set forth in Section 5, and one wall or facia sign as set forth in the Regulations and Limita- <br />tions of Section 5. <br /> <br />(b) One projecting sign as set forth in the Regulations and Limitations of Section 5, and one <br />wall or facia sign as set forth within the Regulations and Limitations of Section 5. <br /> <br />(e) One under canopy sign as set forth within the Regulations and Limitations, Section 5, <br />and one wall or facia sign as set forth in the Regulations and Limitations of Section S. <br /> <br />20 <br />
