<br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />OveIWeight Permit - Municipal Builders. Inc. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber stated Municipal Builders, Inc. was requesting an ovelWeight <br />permit to allow for nine tons per axle from Main Street to LaMotte Drive until <br />October I, 2000. Mayor Wilharber asked how many loads would be hauled on <br />this roadway. Chris Sluiter stated there would be approximately 60 loads of <br />concrete and steel hauled to rebuild Lift Station L-4. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber asked what type of damage could be expected from this hauling. <br />Mr. Peterson stated the road is currently patched and this regeneration would <br />continue through the overweight hauling. <br /> <br />Scott Denz, Metropolitan Council Project Manager for Lift Station L-4, stated he <br />was present to address any questions the Council may have. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson asked if a forcemain was on this site at this time. Mr. Denz stated <br />there was a forcemain on the work site with a twenty (20) foot easement. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson asked if Municipal Builders had considered driving the loads cross- <br />country over the twenty (20) foot easement versus existing roadways. Mr. Denz <br />stated he would like to see the loads brought in on the existing roadways and the <br />City would be compensated for any and all damages caused by the hauling trucks. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis asked that this roadway be monitored to keep the <br />compensation accounted for. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked when this project would begin. Mr. <br />Denz stated this project would begin no sooner than June I, 2000. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber asked what route would be taken. Mr. Sluiter stated he would <br />respect whichever route the Council approved. Mayor Wilharber stated the best <br />route would be down Centerville Road to Heritage Street. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked if there would be a limitation to the <br />patching allowed on LaMotte Drive. Mr. Denz stated he is not interested in <br />replacing the entire roadway for the City but would be responsible for filling any <br />and all potholes that were caused during the truck hauling period. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked that the permit be approved for the first <br />portion of hauling. The Council Members concurred. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis stated he would like to see the developer held <br />accountable for pothole damages to the roadways through a bond of$15,000 for <br />repair. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Sweenev. seconded bv Council Member <br />Broussard Vickers to approve the Overweight Permit for Municipal <br />Builders.
