<br />Hygiene Standards - Maximum Allowable Concentration for eight (8) hour day, five (5) days <br />per week}, Table III (Odor Thresholds), Table IV (Concentrations of Substances Causing <br />Pain in the Eyes), and Table V (Exposure to Substances Causing Damage to Vegetation) in <br />the latest revision of Chapter 5 "Physiological Effects" that contains such tables, in the "Air <br />Pollution Abatement Manual" published by the Manufacturing Chemists' Association, Inc., <br />Washington, D.C., are hereby established as guides for the determination of permissible <br />concentration and amounts. The City may require detailed plans for the elimination of <br />fumes or gases before the issuance of a Building Permit. <br /> <br />Section 140-080: Fire Hazards. Any activity involving the use or storage of flammable or <br />explosive materials shall be protected by adequate fire-fighting and fire prevention <br />equipment and by such safety devices as are normally used in the handling of such <br />materials. Such hazards shall be kept removed from adjacent activities to a distance which <br />is compatible with the potential danger involved. <br /> <br />Section 140-090: Air Pollution. Every activity shall conform to state regulations relating <br />to air quality standards and air pollution control. <br /> <br />Section 140-100: Radioactivity or Electrical Disturbance. No activity shall emit <br />dangerous radioactivity at any point or any electrical disturbance adversely affecting the <br />operation of any equipment at any point other than that of the creator of such disturbance. <br /> <br />Section 140-110: Explosives. Any activity or operation requiring the use, storage or <br />manufacturing of explosives shall be located no closer than five hundred (500) feet from <br />any residence, provided further that the location of said activity or operation is such that <br />damage from explosion, including flying debris, vibration or smoke, is limited to the site on <br />which the activity or operation is permitted. <br /> <br />Section 140-120: Burning. No person shall start or allow any open burning on any <br />property in the City without first having obtained an Open Burn Permit. Any person setting <br />a fire or burning anything in the City shall do so following City Fire Department, Department <br />of Natural Resources and Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Rules. Recreational fires <br />three (3) feet x three (3) feet are allowed. Recreational fires must be actively attended by a <br />responsible adult. When the fire is abandoned it must be completely extinguished. <br /> <br />Section 140-130: Bulk Storage. The storage of all bulk liquids, fuels, chemicals, and <br />gases shall be in compliance with and regulated by Minnesota Pollution Control Agency <br />Rules, Minnesota State Fire Marshal rules and the Minnesota State Building Code. <br /> <br />Section 140-140: Outside Storage. All products, materials and equipment, except as <br />specifically provided in this Ordinance, shall be stored within permitted structures, except <br />for the following: <br /> <br />Page 40 of 6S <br />
