We received our new accu-vote voting machine to be used for November elections.
Newly promoted ClerkfTreasurer Teresa Bender is excited about conducting her first
municipal election and is looking forward to the challenge.

. We received our gas tax refund this week.

. Public works has staked out the bases for the ballfields at LaMotte Park. A vendor is
coming in this weekend to shift the location of one backstop that they had placed
incorrectly. Public works will have the fields in excellent playing condition in anticipation of
the 32 team softball tournament that is going to be held in conjunction with Fete des Lacs.

. The annual lift station inspections were conducted by Waldor Pump this week. You
might think this is not a very newsworthy item, but trust me a malfunctioning sewage lift
station is a biggg problem and could put us in the news.

. The LaMotte Park Outdoor Recreation Grant was delivered today. The availability of
funds in this program is not very promising for this year, but it is still important to submit the
application for future funding consideration.

. Public works has begun patching potholes in the streets. The streets appear to have
made it through the spring season in relatively good shape. All of the streets will be swept
in the community by the end of April.

. The part-time Account Clerk II position has been offered to Laura Thompson. Laura is a
Centerville resident and is very excited to be offered the position. Laura has
approximately sixteen years of various accounting experience and would be a great
addition to the Centerville staff. She will let me know her response on Monday.

. There is a Fete des Lacs meeting next week Monday at City Hall at 6:30. Plan to attend
and become involved with the City celebration.

3131/00
