<br />Subd. 68. Floodwav. The channel of a river or other watercourse and the adjacent land <br />areas that must be reserved in order to discharge the 100-year flood without <br />cumulatively increasing the water surface elevation more than one foot at any <br />point. <br /> <br />Subd.69. Floodwav Fringe. All that land in a flood plain not lying within a delineated <br />floodway. Land within a floodway fringe is subject to inundation by relatively <br />low velocity flows and shallow water depths. <br /> <br />Subd. 70. Floor Area. The sum of the gross horizontal areas of the several floors of a <br />building or dwelling unit, measured from the exterior walls or from the <br />centerline of party walls separating buildings, excluding basements. <br /> <br />Subd.71. Floor Area Ratio. The total floor area on a zoning lot divided by the total site <br />area of the lot or parcel being developed. <br /> <br />Subd. 72. Freestanding Sign. Any sign supported by structures or supports that are <br />permanently anchored in the ground and that are independent from any building <br />or structure. <br /> <br />Subd. 73. Frontage. The front or frontage is that side of a lot abutting on a street or <br />roadway and ordinarily regarded as the front of the lot, but it shall not be <br />considered as the ordinary sideline of a comer lot. <br /> <br />Subd.74. Garage. Private. Any accessory building or an accessory portion of a principal <br />building designed or used solely for the storage of motor vehicles, boats, and <br />other personal belongings which are owned or used by the occupants of the <br />building to which it is accessory. <br /> <br />Subd. 75. Garage Sale. Any display of items for sale in a swelling, garage or yard on <br />property used primarily as a residence. <br /> <br />Subd. 76. Glare. A sensation of brightness within the visual field that causes annoyance, <br />discomfort, or loss in visual performance and visibility. <br /> <br />Subd. 77. Grade. The lowest point of elevation of the finished surface of the ground, <br />paving or sidewalk within the area between the building and the property line, or <br />when the property line is more than five (5) feet from the building, between the <br />building and a line five (5) feet from the building. <br /> <br />Subd. 78. Home OccuDation. An occupation or professional activity or use that is clearly a <br />customary, incidental, and secondary use of a residential dwelling unit and <br />which does not alter the exterior of the property or affect the residential <br />character of the neighborhood. Home occupations in the City must meet the <br />following criteria: <br />a.) Home occupations shall be conducted solely by person residing <br />in the residence with the exception of no more than one <br />additional non-related employee; and <br />
